A video showing a woman confronting security personnel at a checkpoint in Jammu and Kashmir has drawn online criticism, with reactions focusing on the heightened security measures in the region.

The video shows the woman gesturing animatedly and accusing personnel of treating visitors like locked-up locals during what appears to be a temporary closure for security reasons.

Online reactions criticized the woman for ignoring the context of heightened security measures following the 2025 Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 tourists, as well as recent targeted killings.

Commentators stressed the need to respect security personnel, noting that tourists visit Jammu and Kashmir only when conditions are considered safe. Several reactions also rejected the use of the “Gen Z” label as a justification for confronting security personnel in a conflict-prone area.
