India-Vietnam Partnership Gains Momentum as Sherpa Highlights Trust, Shared Strengths

Indian Ambassador Tshering W Sherpa highlights India-Vietnam ties, shared civilisational links, ASEAN centrality and Vision MAHASAGAR, stressing trust, people-centric development and strategic autonomy.

India and Vietnam are progressive and forward-looking partners that have strengthened their relationship by turning challenges into opportunities, learning from each other and building on their shared strengths, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Tshering W Sherpa said.

Emphasising the partnership between India and Vietnam, Sherpa said the strong foundation of goodwill, mutual respect and trust, with people at the centre of the relationship, would remain vital to taking the traditional partnership to greater heights.

The Indian Ambassador to Vietnam wrote this in the Vietnamese English daily as New Delhi prepares to hold the 80th Independence Day celebrations tomorrow.

Describing Vietnam as a key pillar of India’s ‘Act East’ policy and Vision MAHASAGAR—Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions—Sherpa reaffirmed India’s commitment to ASEAN centrality.
