Crane Breakdown at Juhu Circle Triggers Massive Traffic Jam in Andheri, Vile Parle
A crane failure near JVPD Circle caused a massive traffic jam across Andheri West and Vile Parle on Thursday, with journeys stretching to 45 minutes as commuters faced delays and demanded quick repairs.
The breakdown created severe congestion as office-goers, students and even film stars' vehicles were caught in the traffic jam. Commuters reported prolonged delays, with Suraj Mehta saying he was stuck for 40 minutes in what he described as absolute chaos.
The disruption affected traffic movement across the area, while local groups pressed the MMRDA for quick repairs. Commuters also raised complaints over repeated disruptions occurring without prior notice.
Traffic police were deployed to manage the flow, with a mechanic at the site working on the crane. Authorities expected the obstruction to be cleared soon.
The crane failure resulted in significant delays on the southbound stretch near JVPD Circle, disrupting regular travel between Andheri West and Vile Parle during the morning hours.
