Bajaj AMC Simplifies SIP Investment Process With New Three-Step Online Journey
Bajaj Asset Management Limited has launched a simplified three-step online SIP investment journey that eliminates paperwork and streamlines investing. Learn how the new process works, who needs KYC, and the key steps before starting an SIP.
To begin the process, investors are required to keep their Permanent Account Number (PAN), registered mobile phone, and access to the bank account from which SIP instalments will be paid. They can then initiate the investment journey by clicking on the “Invest Now” option or the user icon available at the top of the Bajaj AMC website, www.bajajamc.com, which redirects them to the transaction portal.
On the transaction portal, investors must enter their PAN and complete the required verification using the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their registered mobile phone number or email address. They are also required to enter or create a four-digit PIN to enhance account security. After successful verification, they are directed to the account home page, where they can browse the available mutual fund schemes.
After selecting a mutual fund scheme, investors need to click on “Start SIP” and provide details including the investment amount, investment frequency, SIP start date, and duration. They must also choose the investment mode through a drop-down menu, selecting either a Direct Plan or a Regular Plan.
The Direct Plan allows investors to purchase units directly from the mutual fund, while the Regular Plan is purchased through a mutual fund distributor. Although both plans invest in the same underlying portfolio, they carry different expense ratios. The Regular Plan has a slightly higher cost as it includes distributor commission. Investors are advised to choose between independent investing and distributor-assisted investing based on their preference.
Before proceeding, investors should carefully review all entered details, read and accept the terms and conditions, and then click on the “Invest” option.
The final stage of the process requires investors to register an AutoPay mandate, authorising their bank to debit the SIP amount automatically on scheduled dates. Bajaj AMC allows investors to choose from multiple AutoPay methods, including UPI, net banking, and debit card. After selecting a preferred option, investors are redirected to their payment application or bank’s webpage, where they must verify the mandate details and approve the request.
The company advises investors to consider selecting a sufficiently high mandate amount to provide flexibility for adding new SIPs or increasing existing SIP investments in the future. The mandate amount serves only as the maximum debit limit, while the actual deduction will be limited to the SIP instalment amount.
For the investment duration, investors who have a fixed investment period can choose the required number of instalments. Alternatively, they can select the “Until I stop” option to keep the SIP active until they decide to cancel it.
Once the AutoPay mandate is successfully registered, the SIP setup is complete. The SIP amount will then be debited from the investor’s bank account on the scheduled date, subject to applicable processing timelines. Investors can also access and monitor their transaction history and SIP details through their Bajaj AMC account.
Bajaj AMC stated that investors who already have an existing mandate with the company can complete the investment process more quickly. New investors must first create their account and folio through the guided onboarding process, while individuals who are not KYC Validated will be required to complete their Know Your Customer (KYC) process before investing.
