11-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Raped After Being Held Hostage in Delhi's Sadar Bazar

According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received on the night of September 16 regarding the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl by a shopkeeper. A team from Sadar Bazar Police Station, along with the ACPs of Sadar Bazar and the Women Police Station, immediately reached the spot.

The investigation found that the Class 6 student had left her home at around 11 pm to purchase stationery. During this time, a man present at a neighbouring shop allegedly lured her inside the shop. He then allegedly tied her hands and legs and sexually assaulted her.

Police Arrest 56-Year-Old Accused

Following the information, an FIR was registered at the Women Police Station in North Delhi under the relevant provisions of law. Police said immediate action was taken and the 56-year-old accused, identified as Maqsood, was sent to judicial custody on the same day.

Officials said the case was handled with utmost sensitivity and that the North District Women Police Station remains committed to taking prompt action on complaints involving crimes against women and children.

Rape and Murder Case Reported in Delhi on September 13

Earlier, another case involving a 17-year-old girl had come to light in Delhi, in which she was allegedly sexually assaulted and subsequently brutally killed. The case came to light on September 13 after a badly decomposed body was found near the farm of Jaipal Rana on Kushak Road in the Swaroop Nagar area of North Delhi.

The condition of the body was such that police initially could not determine whether the deceased was a boy or a girl. During the investigation, the victim was identified. Police later found that four people were involved in the crime, including three minors.

According to police, the accused later dumped the girl’s body in an open area. The victim allegedly knew the accused and was travelling with them in a tempo. During the journey, all of them consumed alcohol, following which the girl was allegedly raped. She was then stabbed to death with a knife.

The two cases have brought renewed attention to crimes involving minors in the national capital, with police action in the latest case focusing on the alleged confinement and sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.
