Foreign Yoga Teacher Sparks Debate After Working Out in Indian Train's 3AC Coach

The video shows Jo Serenity performing yoga inside the 3rd AC coach while travelling by train in India. The clip received mixed reactions online, with some users appreciating the woman’s activity and others arguing that exercising or playing inside a train could cause inconvenience to fellow passengers.

One user commented that people in India generally do not appreciate passengers doing yoga or playing inside trains because such activities can often cause problems for others. When another user praised the woman, some people objected and claimed that doing yoga inside the train amounted to disrespecting Indian Railways. Another person warned the woman to be careful around sharp steel scales.

Responding to the comments, Jo clarified that she had asked the people sitting around her for permission before practising yoga inside the train. She said she made the video only after receiving their permission. She also mentioned that she faced some difficulty because of a hook attached to the seat and said she would keep it in mind the next time.

Jo also spoke positively about her experience travelling by train in India. She said, “I really enjoyed travelling by train. I walked around the entire coach. People were so lovely. They wanted to take pictures with me. I feel so grateful to have come to this country.”

According to Jo Serenity’s Instagram profile, she is a yoga teacher who has been travelling across India for around one month. She began her journey by exploring villages in Himachal Pradesh. She later travelled to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal before heading to Rajasthan. Along with her partner, she explored the desert and visited several famous places there. She has now continued her journey by train.

Earlier, Jo had also shared a video on her Instagram account in which she was seen kissing a cow on the cheek. The video was widely appreciated by viewers. In the caption, she wrote, “Cows are considered like mothers and they are truly so sweet and adorable.”

The contrasting reactions to Jo’s train video have brought attention to how her travel activities are being received online, while her own response has clarified that she sought permission from nearby passengers before filming the yoga session.
