Vishal Agarwal has claimed that he suspects some members of Siya’s family may also have been involved in the alleged conspiracy. He said he is applying to the court to obtain a copy of the chargesheet, which he believes could provide answers to several questions surrounding the case.
Speaking to PTI, Vishal Agarwal said those responsible for his son’s murder should be sentenced to death. He said he has approached the court to obtain a copy of the chargesheet filed in the case. He has also sought the notification related to the appointment of Ujjwal Nikam as the special public prosecutor in the matter.
Vishal Agarwal said he had earlier approached Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, seeking a fast-track court hearing in the case. However, he said he has not yet received a clear response regarding either the demand for a fast-track trial or the appointment of Ujjwal Nikam as the government lawyer.
“I have not seen the chargesheet yet. Only after reading it will I be able to say anything about it. We have already approached the court to obtain a copy of the chargesheet,” he said.
Vishal Agarwal also alleged that he continues to suspect that Siya’s father, mother, brother, uncle and aunt may have been involved in the alleged conspiracy to murder Ketan. He said he would be able to elaborate on these allegations only after reading the chargesheet.
He also referred to reports that Siya had secretly married Chetan Chaudhary, who is an accused in the case. Vishal Agarwal questioned why, if those reports were true, Siya’s family allegedly tried to arrange her marriage with his son Ketan.
Vishal Agarwal said the investigation into the murder case was progressing in the right direction. He said his only demand was that those responsible for his son’s murder should be sentenced to death. “So far, I have not received any concrete response from the government on either of my demands. I will once again ask the government to issue the necessary notification,” he said.
In the Ketan Agarwal murder case, Pune Police filed a chargesheet running more than 5,000 pages on September 19 against Siya Goel, Chetan Chaudhary and Ritesh Hange. Ketan Agarwal died on June 18 after falling from Lohagad Fort in Pune. Police subsequently arrested all three accused.
According to the chargesheet, the three accused allegedly created a fake Instagram account under the name ‘Mahi’. The account was allegedly used to persuade Ketan to travel to Lohagad Fort with Siya. After they reached the fort, Ketan was allegedly pushed from the fort, resulting in his death.
The allegations made by Ketan’s father and the details cited in the chargesheet have brought renewed focus to the circumstances surrounding his death, while the court proceedings and the chargesheet are expected to shed further light on the case.
