Two Firefighters Killed After Factory Wall Collapses During Greater Noida Blaze Response
Two firefighters were killed after a factory wall and iron beam collapsed during a massive blaze at the ILGIM unit in Greater Noida. Police and SDRF teams are investigating the incident as three injured responders remain in stable condition.
The incident occurred at the ILGIM unit in Ecotech-3, Greater Noida, from August 3 into August 4. After responders had brought the massive fire under control, a side wall and an iron beam suddenly collapsed, trapping members of the firefighting team.
Fireman Rohit Yadav and Chief Constable Driver Tirthpal Singh lost their lives in the collapse. Three other personnel, Rajpal Singh, Manish Kumar, and Amit Kumar, sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment. They are now reported to be in stable condition.
DCP Shailendra Kumar Singh confirmed the details of the incident. Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams remain at the site as investigations into the cause of the structural collapse continue.
The deaths of the two firefighters during the emergency response have underscored the dangers faced by rescue personnel, while the ongoing investigation is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the collapse at the ILGIM unit.
