High Water Tank Video Sparks Panic in Hapur; Police Reveal Worker Was Performing Cleaning Duty
A viral video of a young man sitting on the edge of a high water tank in Hapur’s Pilkhuwa area caused public panic. Police investigation revealed that the man was a worker involved in cleaning activity and had sat outside the tank due to heat. The viral video was reportedly recorded at a water tank located in Bajrangpuri, Pilkhuwa. After the video surfaced, several people described the act as dangerous and raised questions over safety arrangements. Many users on social media demanded action, while various reactions emerged regarding the incident.
Following the widespread circulation of the video, instructions were issued through the Hapur Police account on X, formerly known as Twitter, directing the Hapur Police to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
During the investigation, police clarified the actual circumstances behind the viral footage. Police Station In-charge Inspector Atul Chauhan stated that some workers were carrying out cleaning work on the water tank located in Bajrangpuri. During the cleaning process, one worker felt excessive heat and came outside the tank before sitting on its edge. Someone recorded the moment and later shared the video on social media, causing it to spread widely.
Inspector Atul Chauhan said that, at the initial stage, the matter was not related to an attempted suicide or any protest activity but was a case of negligence during cleaning work. Local police reached the spot and instructed the concerned workers and contractor to strictly follow safety standards in the future and ensure mandatory use of protective equipment while working at heights.
The incident highlights the importance of maintaining safety measures during high-risk maintenance activities and ensuring that workers engaged in such tasks follow necessary precautions to prevent dangerous situations and public concern.
