Government College of Education Organises Five-Day ‘Disha’ Workshop to Empower Chandigarh Government School Students
Government College of Education, Sector 20, Chandigarh, successfully organised the five-day Disha motivation and personality development workshop for 40 Class 9 students from government schools. Conducted in collaboration with The Helping Hands Trust and the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, the initiative focused on leadership, communication, emotional resilience, and life skills.
The workshop brought together 40 Class 9 students from various government schools across Chandigarh. It was designed to enhance self-confidence, leadership qualities, communication skills, emotional resilience, and essential life skills among the participants. Throughout the five-day programme, students engaged in interactive sessions, group activities, motivational lectures, storytelling, mindfulness exercises, and personality development activities aimed at nurturing their overall growth.
The valedictory ceremony was attended by Additional District and Sessions Judge and Legal Remembrancer-cum-Director of Prosecution, Chandigarh Administration, Surya Chandra Kant, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. District Education Officer Beena Rani, along with school principals, teachers, and other distinguished guests, was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, the Chief Guest encouraged students to pursue success through hard work, dedication, and unwavering determination. He also appreciated the initiative taken by the college to promote the holistic development of students. College Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda congratulated all participants on successfully completing the workshop and expressed gratitude to the Education Department, resource persons, volunteers, and all collaborators for their valuable support in making the programme a success.
The successful conclusion of the Disha workshop reaffirmed the commitment of Government College of Education and the Chandigarh Administration to fostering confidence, leadership, and life skills among young learners, preparing them to meet future academic and personal challenges with resilience and determination.
