Mumbai-Pune Rail Disruption: ST Launches 200 Additional Daily Bus Services After Heavy Rainfall and Landslides
Heavy rainfall and landslides disrupt the Mumbai-Pune railway route, causing around 30 train cancellations. Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation launches 200 additional daily bus services along with existing E-Shivneri operations to support stranded passengers and ensure safe travel between Mumbai and Pun
Under the special arrangement, these 200 additional ordinary buses will operate along with the existing 312 E-Shivneri bus services running regularly between Mumbai and Pune. The move aims to provide immediate transportation alternatives for passengers affected by the railway disruption.
The Transport Department has issued clear instructions to all concerned depots and bus stations to deploy more additional buses immediately if passenger crowds increase at railway stations. The State Road Transport Corporation administration has been fully deployed on the ground to ensure safe, faster and uninterrupted travel for passengers during the crisis.
Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik confirmed the emergency arrangement and stated that passenger convenience remains the top priority until railway services are restored. He added that the number of buses will be increased further if required.
The swift decision by the State Road Transport Corporation is providing major relief to millions of daily commuters, including working professionals and regular railway passengers travelling between Mumbai and Pune. The additional bus operations have emerged as a crucial support system while rail services remain affected due to adverse weather conditions.
