Haryana Chief Minister Releases Rs. 1,582.14 Crore to 50.20 Lakh Beneficiaries Under 19 Welfare Schemes
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini releases Rs. 1,582.14 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer to over 50 lakh beneficiaries under 19 welfare schemes, including women welfare, pensions, housing assistance, LPG subsidy and financial support programmes aimed at improving social security across Haryana.
The Chief Minister announced the release while addressing a press conference at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh. The transferred amount includes the ninth instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, social security pensions, the Dayalu Scheme, Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana and benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, among other welfare initiatives.
Ninth Instalment of Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana Released
Nayab Singh Saini said the ninth instalment of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana has been released, with Rs. 209.69 crore transferred to the bank accounts of 9.98 lakh women beneficiaries.
With this instalment, a total of Rs. 1,832.69 crore has been distributed through nine instalments under the scheme. The Chief Minister said the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Application was launched on September 25 last year on the occasion of the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
A budgetary provision of Rs. 6,500 crore has been allocated for the scheme during the current financial year.
Social Security Pensions Transferred to 34.83 Lakh Beneficiaries
The Chief Minister said Rs. 1,121.39 crore has been directly transferred to 34.83 lakh beneficiaries under 15 social security pension schemes. These include the Old Age Honour Allowance, Disability Allowance and other social security pension programmes.
He said the State Government has introduced a systemic change through the Proactive Model, under which eligibility is automatically determined using the Family Identity Card database. This enables eligible citizens to receive pension benefits at their homes without visiting government offices or submitting applications.
The Chief Minister said payments through the Direct Benefit Transfer system demonstrate the government's commitment to transparency and effective administration while ensuring timely financial assistance reaches eligible beneficiaries.
Financial Assistance Released to 3,295 Families Under Dayalu Scheme
Nayab Singh Saini said financial assistance of Rs. 125.11 crore is being provided to 3,295 families under the Dayalu Scheme. With this release, total financial assistance of Rs. 2,925.49 crore has been provided to 77,590 families under the scheme.
He further said Dayalu Scheme-2 has been implemented in the state since September 11 last year to provide financial assistance in cases of accidental death, disability or injury caused by dog bites or attacks by stray animals, including cows, bulls, oxen, donkeys, dogs, nilgai and buffaloes.
Subsidy Released Under Har Ghar-Har Grihini Yojana
The Chief Minister said a subsidy of Rs. 18.97 crore for May has been transferred to the bank accounts of 5.16 lakh women who refilled their LPG cylinders.
He said eligible women under the scheme are provided one LPG cylinder every month at a cost of Rs. 500. With the latest release, a total of Rs. 320.97 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of 14.43 lakh eligible women under the scheme.
Financial Assistance Released Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin
The Chief Minister said Rs. 107 crore has been released for house construction to the bank accounts of 20,165 eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
He said financial assistance of Rs. 827.22 crore has been provided under the scheme so far. A total of 76,466 houses have been sanctioned in Haryana, of which 41,260 houses have been completed, while construction of 35,206 houses is underway.
The press conference was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Town and Country Planning and Urban Estates Department Anurag Agrawal, Director General of the Housing for All Department J. Ganesan, Director General of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department K. Makarand Pandurang, Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Praveen Attreya and other officials.
The release of Rs. 1,582.14 crore marks a major step in strengthening welfare delivery through direct financial transfers, ensuring that assistance under multiple government schemes reaches millions of eligible beneficiaries across Haryana in a transparent and timely manner.
