Indian Tourist from Bihar Drowns in Nepal's Phewa Lake During Visit to Tal Barahi Temple
A 28-year-old Indian tourist from Bihar, Rohit Kumar, died after drowning in Nepal's Phewa Lake in Pokhara during a visit to the Tal Barahi Temple. Police said the incident occurred after he entered the lake for a swim with a friend following the group's visit to the island temple, highlighting a tragic turn during the sightseeing trip.
According to the District Police Office in Kaski, the group had docked their boat at the temple when Rohit Kumar and one of his friends decided to swim in the lake. During the swim, Rohit drowned, resulting in a fatal incident.
Police confirmed the identity of the deceased as Rohit Kumar, a resident of Bihar, India. Officials stated that the incident took place during the group's visit to one of Pokhara's most popular religious and tourist destinations.
The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with swimming in natural water bodies during tourist visits, turning what began as a leisure trip into a tragic loss of life.
