Addressing the conference, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish said India remains committed to supporting the Palestinian people through sustained humanitarian assistance. He stated that New Delhi has provided more than 175 million US dollars in assistance to the Palestinian people over the years, reflecting India's continued commitment to humanitarian relief and development.
Highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Ambassador Harish said the situation remains fragile and stressed that India's efforts are focused on addressing the humanitarian needs and aspirations of the Palestinian people. He noted that India has dispatched 150 tonnes of humanitarian aid during the last three years alone to support relief operations in the region.
In a related diplomatic development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday. During the discussion, the Prime Minister reiterated the need for continued efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability across the West Asia region. He also emphasized the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and international commerce.
