Shahzad Bhatti Network Faces Major UP Police Crackdown, 52 Accused Arrested
Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested 52 accused in a major crackdown on the Shahzad Bhatti network over alleged ISI links. Twelve cases have been registered after action began on May 26.
The action began on May 26, during which the police examined around 175 suspects linked to the network. The investigation has resulted in multiple arrests as authorities continue their action against the alleged network.
Pistols, cartridges and knives were recovered from the arrested accused, according to the police. Authorities also claimed to have recovered flammable liquid and objectionable posters during the operation.
The accused have been alleged to have lured young people with incentives to join the network. They have also been accused of provoking youths to engage in violent activities, forming a key part of the allegations being investigated by the authorities.
The Uttar Pradesh Police's action against the Shahzad Bhatti network remains ongoing. There is also a claim that members of the Shahzad Bhatti gang have been declared terrorists.
