Piyush Goyal Pushes Deeper India-Singapore Economic Ties, Business Collaboration
Piyush Goyal highlights India’s growth, investment opportunities and ease of doing business in Singapore, while holding key meetings on trade, technology, financial innovation and deeper economic cooperation.
Addressing INSEAD alumni and students, Singaporean entrepreneurs and Indian businesses at the India-Singapore Business Forum, Goyal highlighted India’s strong growth trajectory, investment opportunities and the Government’s efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance the ease of doing business.
Goyal also met Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, Gan Siow Huang, and other dignitaries at the APEDA-FairPrice roadshow-cum-in-store promotion being organised to expand exports of a diverse range of Indian agricultural and processed food products.
Meanwhile, Goyal held a meeting with Sopnendu Mohanty, Group CEO of the Global Finance and Technology Network, a Singapore-based global advisory and investment firm. They discussed opportunities to deepen India-Singapore cooperation in financial innovation, technology and emerging areas of the digital economy.
The minister also met Cindy Lim, CEO of Keppel Infrastructure, in Singapore.
Goyal further joined Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada in engaging with their Singaporean counterparts at the 4th India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable.
The engagements underscored India’s focus on expanding economic, trade, technology and business-to-business cooperation with Singapore while strengthening broader partnerships across Asia.
