Joymoti sustained wounds to her forehead, ear, thigh and abdomen, along with a maggot-infested genital injury. She was also found to be blind in her right eye and had an old leg fracture. Following local treatment, she became the first elephant airlifted in India for such care.
Her transfer to Vantara was carried out with the approval of the Supreme Court, allowing her to receive intensive veterinary support at the facility. Vantara's advanced elephant hospital is now providing wound treatment, eye care, nutrition and continuous monitoring as part of her recovery.

The airlift has provided Joymoti access to specialized care following the severe injuries she sustained after being swept through the floods. Her arrival at the facility has also brought relief over her ability to receive expert treatment and rest without further travel stress.
The case highlights the extensive veterinary intervention now being provided to Joymoti as she undergoes treatment and monitoring at Vantara in Jamnagar.
