Six-Year-Old Boy Dies After Teacher Slaps Him Over Homework in Visakhapatnam

A six-year-old LKG student, Pranay Teja, died after collapsing in a Visakhapatnam classroom following an alleged slap over unfinished homework. Police are investigating as his family demands action.

Pranay Teja, a six-year-old LKG student at Little Garden School in Visakhapatnam, died after he collapsed in class when his teacher allegedly scolded him, pulled at his clothes and slapped him on the cheek over unfinished homework.

CCTV footage shows Pranay crying and coughing before he fell in the classroom. He was taken to King George Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Early reports suggested that he suffered cardiac arrest from fear.

Following the incident, Pranay’s family protested outside the school and the hospital, demanding action against teacher Anuradha and the school management. Police have begun investigating the incident and are awaiting the autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh ordered a full probe into the incident. The case has also reignited concerns over corporal punishment in schools, as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the six-year-old student.
