MaitriBodh Parivaar Marks International Day of Yoga With Focus on Friendship, Culture and Holistic Wellness
MaitriBodh Parivaar celebrated the International Day of Yoga at ShantiKshetra Premgiri Ashram in Karjat with hundreds of participants. The event featured addresses by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Maitreya Dadashreeji, along with cultural performances and a focus on friendship, cultural heritage and holistic well-being.
KARJAT: MaitriBodh Parivaar celebrated the International Day of Yoga with a distinctive gathering at ShantiKshetra Premgiri Ashram in Karjat, bringing together the spirit of friendship, cultural heritage and the holistic benefits of yoga. Hundreds of participants assembled at the ashram to commemorate the occasion and experience the deeper dimensions of yoga.
MaitriBodh Parivaar, a socio-spiritual organisation committed to the upliftment of humanity and the nourishment of inner consciousness, regards yoga as a powerful path towards inner transformation and collective well-being. The organisation's spiritual philosophy closely aligns with the vision of the Ministry of AYUSH, which continues to promote yoga as a way of life.
Emphasising that yoga extends far beyond physical exercise, the event highlighted its significance as an integral component of India's civilisational and cultural heritage. The celebration was attended by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Government of India. Addressing the gathering, he stated that while innovation and technological progress would propel India towards greater heights, the country's spiritual and cultural foundations would provide the strength, stability and wisdom necessary to sustain its unique position in the future.
Maitreya Dadashreeji, founder and visionary of MaitriBodh Parivaar and a pioneer of transformation, spoke about the principles of friendship and cultural values. He stressed that these timeless ideals possess the power to unite society and contribute to India's emergence as a global guide. He further underlined that meaningful transformation within society must begin with transformation within individuals.
The event was also attended by Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal, who has been working closely with MaitriBodh Parivaar on initiatives connecting culture, the economy and policy with national development. Shri Mahendra Sadashiv Thorve, Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Karjat-Khalapur constituency, was also present and reaffirmed his commitment to the transformation of rural Karjat in alignment with the organisation's initiatives.
Participants were encouraged to explore yoga beyond physical postures and exercises and to embrace its deeper essence as the union of body, mind and consciousness. The celebration also featured cultural performances, including Ganesh Vandana and Mallakhamb, an ancient Indian discipline known for enhancing strength, flexibility, balance and self-discipline.
By bringing spirituality, cultural heritage, community values and wellness together on one platform, the International Day of Yoga celebration at ShantiKshetra Premgiri Ashram emerged as a powerful reflection of India's enduring wisdom and its continued relevance in the modern world.
