Describing the proposed accord as the "mother of all trade deals", Ursula von der Leyen said the agreement is expected to cover nearly a quarter of the global economy and deliver a significant boost to trade and investment between India and the European Union.
During their meeting, both sides also agreed to deepen cooperation in defence and security and accelerate efforts related to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. The leaders stressed the importance of building resilient supply chains and expanding strategic collaboration at a time of growing uncertainty across the global landscape.
The discussions underscored the commitment of India and the European Union to broaden their partnership beyond trade and enhance cooperation in key sectors.
