Mumbai Tech Week 2026 announced in Maharashtra with global AI leaders including OpenAI, Meta, Anthropic, and Google Cloud expected to participate. CM Devendra Fadnavis highlights AI-driven governance, youth opportunities, startup showcases, and job fair aimed at positioning Mumbai as India’s leading AI innovation hub.
The announcement was made at Sahyadri Guest House, where Fadnavis emphasized that artificial intelligence will be the most transformative force shaping the future and underscored the need for widespread adoption of the technology across governance, industry, and public systems. He stated that Maharashtra is already deploying artificial intelligence across multiple government departments to enhance administrative efficiency and service delivery, with the administration positioning itself as the largest stakeholder in this technological transformation.
Mumbai Tech Week 2026 is scheduled to take place on May 29 and May 30 at the Jio World Convention Centre. The event will bring together leading global artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI, Meta, Anthropic, and Google Cloud, alongside more than 10,000 developers and technology enthusiasts.
The event is being organized by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) in partnership with the Government of Maharashtra, IDFC FIRST Bank, and Meta. According to official statements, the platform is designed to expand opportunities for young talent and position Maharashtra as a leading center for artificial intelligence innovation in India.
Fadnavis further urged organizers to scale the event beyond its previous edition, highlighting its role in connecting the state’s youth with global opportunities in the artificial intelligence sector. He also called for showcasing government-led artificial intelligence initiatives through immersive and experiential presentations during the event.
The central theme of Mumbai Tech Week 2026, “India: AI in Action,” will focus on real-world applications of artificial intelligence across industries rather than limiting discussions to theoretical discourse. TEAM co-chair and governing council member Harsh Jain stated that the upcoming edition will emphasize demonstration-driven engagement, highlighting how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and generating new economic opportunities.
The event will also host the AI Excellence Awards 2026, an early-stage startup showcase, and an artificial intelligence-based job fair. More than 25 companies are expected to participate in the recruitment drive, offering over 250 job opportunities to more than 30,000 candidates.
Organizers confirmed that the program will additionally feature masterclasses, “Stories Unplugged” sessions, and 14 satellite events across Mumbai leading up to the main conference.
TEAM, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening Mumbai’s technology ecosystem, includes prominent entrepreneurs on its governing council, among them Harsh Jain, Aakrit Vaish, Naia Saggi, Dhruvil Sanghvi, Akanksha Hazari, Vishal Gondal, Mayank Kumar, and Vivek Khemka.
The initiative is being positioned as a major step toward establishing Maharashtra as a global destination for artificial intelligence innovation and technology-driven economic growth.
