Rajasthan High Court Extends Deadline for Local Body Elections to July 31, Orders OBC Commission Report by June 20

Rajasthan High Court has provided major relief to the state government by extending the deadline for conducting Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections until July 31. The court has also directed the OBC Commission to submit its report by June 20, following detailed hearings and procedural considerations in a significant administrative development.

In a significant relief to the state government, the Rajasthan High Court has extended the deadline for conducting Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections until July 31, while simultaneously directing the OBC Commission to submit its report by June 20.

The decision was delivered by a division bench of the High Court, headed by Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma. The ruling comes after the state government filed a petition seeking an extension of time to complete the long-pending electoral process.

According to the court record, the state government had earlier been directed to complete the elections by April 15. However, following the request for additional time, the matter was heard in detail, and after hearing all parties, the bench reserved its judgment on May 11 before finally pronouncing the order.

During the proceedings, legal arguments were presented on behalf of the election authorities by advocates Amit Kudi and Dharamaram, who participated in the detailed hearing before the division bench.
