Sara Tendulkar Responds Strongly to Body-Shaming Remark by Paparazzi Account, Calls Out Online Harassment
Sara Tendulkar has strongly condemned a Mumbai-based paparazzi account for posting a body-shaming caption about her in a viral airport video. The incident sparked widespread online backlash, with users supporting her stand against harassment, while raising concerns over digital media ethics and intrusive celebrity coverage.
The incident occurred when a Mumbai-based paparazzi account uploaded a video showing Sara arriving at an airport accompanied by her sister-in-law, Saaniya. While the visuals appeared routine, the caption attached to the post triggered widespread criticism for its derogatory language. The caption read in meaning: “Sara is overweight; the person beside her is the sister-in-law.”
The remark drew immediate attention from Sara Tendulkar, who responded publicly through her Instagram Stories, strongly condemning the account’s conduct. Addressing the account identified as “@tahirjasus,” she wrote, “You are disgusting. This is not journalism. Leave us alone.”
Even after the post was reportedly deleted, Sara continued to express her disapproval. In a subsequent statement, she said, “You can delete your post, but that does not make you any less disgusting.”
The incident sparked significant backlash on social media, with numerous users supporting Sara Tendulkar and criticizing the use of body-shaming remarks and intrusive coverage of public figures and their families. Following the criticism, the paparazzi account removed the post.
On the professional front, Sara Tendulkar serves as a Director at the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation. Announcing her appointment earlier, Sachin Tendulkar stated, “I’m overjoyed to share that my daughter Sara Tendulkar has joined the @STF_India as Director. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from University College London. As she embarks on this journey to empower India through sports, healthcare, and education, it serves as a reminder of how global learning can come full circle.”
Last year, Sara Tendulkar also launched a Pilates Academy in Mumbai, focusing on fitness, wellness, and healthy living.
The episode highlights growing concerns over digital media ethics, body-shaming culture, and the increasing scrutiny faced by public figures on social media platforms.
