Mumbai Airport Cocaine Seizure: DRI Recovers Narcotics Worth ₹11.25 Crore, Four Foreign Nationals Arrested

DRI seized cocaine worth approximately ₹11.25 crore at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, in two separate smuggling cases. A total of 2.25 kilograms of cocaine was recovered, and four foreign nationals were arrested. The investigation is underway under the NDPS Act to identify the intended recipient and dismantle the wider international trafficking network.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has carried out a major anti-narcotics operation at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai, resulting in the seizure of cocaine valued at approximately ₹11.25 crore, officials confirmed.

The operation, conducted in two separate cases, led to the recovery of a total of 2 kilograms and 25 grams of cocaine. Authorities acted on specific intelligence inputs indicating attempts to smuggle narcotics into India through international air routes.

Following the inputs, officials initiated targeted screening and questioning of suspicious passengers arriving at the airport. A detailed inspection of their baggage revealed the concealed cocaine, which had been carefully hidden to avoid detection during security checks.

Four foreign nationals have been arrested in connection with the seizure. Investigators suspect that the accused are part of an organized international drug trafficking syndicate operating across borders.
