However, according to protocol clearance from the President’s Office, only Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been granted permission to meet the President directly. As a result, all accompanying legislators will remain outside while the Chief Minister proceeds for the closed-door interaction at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Mann is expected to brief President Murmu on the prevailing situation in Punjab, including raising concerns related to certain rebellious Members of Parliament. He is also expected to seek intervention regarding these political developments.
A key agenda of the Chief Minister’s discussion will also include his appeal for the implementation of a Right to Recall law, which he intends to formally present before the President as a matter requiring constitutional and administrative consideration.
Prior to this meeting, Rajya Sabha Member Raghav Chadha is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu. He is expected to raise critical issues concerning Punjab, including law and order conditions, cross-border drug trafficking, illegal arms smuggling, disputes involving Members of Parliament, and several recent incidents impacting governance and security in the state.
The series of high-level meetings in the national capital underscores the growing political and administrative concerns being raised by Punjab’s leadership at the highest constitutional level, with significant implications for governance, security, and legislative stability in the state.
