Following the separation news, a fabricated social media post went viral featuring Mouni Roy alongside her close friend, actress Disha Patani. The image showed the two posing together with garlands around their necks, leading to false claims suggesting a marriage between them. The post, which appeared to be shared as a collaborative update, allegedly carried a caption stating: “After closing one chapter, I found my forever in her. Yes… Disha and I are ready to turn this love story into marriage. From healing to happiness, forever starts now.”
However, it has been confirmed that the viral content is entirely fake. The image in question was originally taken during a visit by Mouni Roy and Disha Patani to an ISKCON temple on Disha Patani’s birthday in June 2025. The accompanying caption was digitally altered and circulated to create a false narrative, leading to widespread confusion on social media platforms.
Amid these developments, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar released a joint statement addressing the growing intrusion into their private lives. The statement read: “We note with dismay the unnecessary and intrusive attention into our personal lives by certain quarters of the media. We would like to state that we have decided to part ways and are taking the necessary time to address matters privately and amicably. Attempts have been made to sensationalise our private lives by circulation of fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship. After thoughtful reflection on evolving personal priorities, we have mutually chosen to move forward on separate paths with respect and understanding.”
The statement further added: “At this point, we are focused on navigating this phase thoughtfully and privately. We will endeavour to cherish our friendship in times to come. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, respect for our privacy, and the continued support extended to us during this time. Mouni & Suraj.”
Meanwhile, social media activity has also drawn attention. Mouni Roy continues to follow Suraj Nambiar on social platforms, while he does not follow her. Additionally, Disha Patani and Suraj Nambiar are no longer following each other. Despite ongoing speculation, Mouni Roy has not removed her wedding photographs with Suraj Nambiar, contrary to circulating reports.
The developments underscore the increasing challenges of misinformation in the digital age, where fabricated narratives can quickly overshadow verified facts and intensify public scrutiny of private lives.
