Amity University Online concludes the first AONSAT 2026, awarding scholarships to 12 top rankers across India. The exam saw participation from 495 cities across all states and Union Territories. The initiative highlights growing adoption of online education and supports NEP 2020 goals for higher enrolment and accessible learning.
The initiative witnessed participation from thousands of learners across 495 cities spanning all 35 states and Union Territories of India, reflecting the extensive reach of digitally enabled higher education. Registrations were recorded from metropolitan centres, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and remote regions across the country, underscoring growing acceptance of online learning among India’s youth.
The participation footprint extended from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Tripura, and from Ludhiana to Kochi, highlighting the truly nationwide presence of the programme. Thousands of candidates qualified through the test and have already begun their preparatory academic engagement, signalling rising aspiration for flexible and accessible higher education opportunities.
The 12 scholarship recipients were selected as top performers in the undergraduate and postgraduate categories. Among them, Abhishek Kushwaha, a postgraduate topper and recipient of a 100 percent scholarship, stated that AONSAT provided a transformative opportunity for learners seeking quality education from a reputed institution, strengthening his confidence and professional aspirations.
Another recipient, Raushan Kumar, undergraduate topper and 100 percent scholarship awardee, noted that the initiative bridged barriers that often make higher education feel inaccessible, enabling students to pursue their goals with renewed confidence in a globally connected academic environment.
Speaking on the initiative, Ajit Chauhan, Chairman of Amity University Online, stated that AONSAT 2026 reflects the evolving aspirations of India’s youth, who are increasingly seeking flexible and future-ready higher education pathways. He emphasised that quality education should not be constrained by geography or financial limitations and highlighted the role of merit-driven scholarship frameworks in building an inclusive and transparent academic ecosystem.
He further noted that such initiatives align with the vision of Viksit Bharat and support the National Education Policy 2020 target of increasing the Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education from 28 percent to 50 percent by 2035. He also stated that India may require approximately 86 million higher education enrolments by 2035, making scalable digital education models and scholarship-led initiatives critical for future academic expansion.
Amity University Online has announced that the second edition of AONSAT will be launched soon, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to affordable, flexible, and inclusive higher education through technology-enabled learning systems and large-scale scholarship opportunities.
The successful completion of AONSAT 2026 underscores the growing role of digital education in transforming access to higher learning in India, while strengthening pathways for academic inclusion, talent recognition, and nationwide educational mobility.
