Atul Unveils Three In-House Crop Protection Innovations to Boost Agricultural Productivity and Sustainable Farming in India
Atul Ltd has launched three proprietary crop protection products—Mylonis, Salix Gold and Tikadis—to improve disease control, weed management and seed protection in rice, soybean and groundnut crops. Developed in-house, these innovations are designed to enhance agricultural productivity, support sustainable farming and increase farmer profitability across India.
The launch marks a significant step in addressing critical challenges in disease management, pest control and weed management in major crops. These factors play a decisive role in determining agricultural yields and improving farmer profitability, making the new offerings strategically important for the country's farming sector.
Mylonis, a patented fungicide formulation, combines Azoxystrobin, Isoprothiolane and Mancozeb to provide comprehensive disease management in rice. The product is designed to combat some of the most damaging diseases affecting rice crops, including sheath blight, blast in multiple strains, and grain discoloration. In addition to controlling disease, Mylonis strengthens plant health, improves grain quality and supports resistance management strategies, making it a valuable solution for rice farmers throughout India.
Salix Gold demonstrates Atul's advanced manufacturing capability in producing high-purity technical-grade formulations. Based on 2,4-D sodium salt and available as water-dispersible granules, the herbicide offers effective post-emergence weed control by targeting broadleaf weeds and sedges in rice cultivation systems across the country. Although the product is currently focused on the domestic market, the company is actively exploring commercial opportunities in selected international regions.
Tikadis, another patented innovation, is a seed treatment formulation that combines Azoxystrobin, Carbendazim and Thiamethoxam. It provides immediate protection against soil-borne pests and pathogens in groundnut and soybean crops. Field trials have shown that Tikadis enhances seed germination, promotes stronger root nodule development for improved plant vigor and ensures uniform pod development, contributing to healthier crops and better yields.
Founded in 1947 by Kasturbhai Lalbhai, Atul is one of India's leading integrated chemical companies, with annual revenue exceeding Rs. 7,000 crore. The company manufactures 900 products and 400 formulations, serving a wide range of industrial and agricultural applications.

The company has also established subsidiaries in Brazil, China, Germany, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States to strengthen customer engagement and expand the reach of its businesses.
While Atul's core operations have historically followed a business-to-business model, the company also operates two consumer-focused ventures that are now more than 15 years old and is working to expand their presence in both domestic and international markets.
