The road to this stage has been marked by a rigorous administrative timeline that began in June 2025. After the preliminary answer keys were meticulously vetted and finalized by October 31, the Commission moved swiftly to ensure the transition to the Mains phase remained seamless. According to the official notification, the Mains examination is tentatively scheduled to take place between April 25 and April 30, 2026. To participate, General, OBC, and EWS category candidates are required to remit an application fee of ₹600, while a subsidized rate of ₹150 is applicable for SC/ST candidates, female residents of Bihar, and physically handicapped applicants. The Commission has integrated multiple digital payment gateways, including credit/debit cards and mobile wallets, to facilitate a smooth registration process for the thousands of qualifying students across the region.
Eligibility for these coveted roles remains strictly governed by the age criteria established as of August 1, 2025. While the baseline entry age varies between 21 and 22 years depending on the specific post, the upper age limit is capped at 37 years for unreserved male candidates. Reflecting the state’s commitment to inclusive recruitment, age relaxations are provided, extending the limit to 40 years for unreserved females and BC/EBC candidates, and up to 42 years for SC/ST applicants. As the competition intensifies for these 1,298 vacancies, the BPSC emphasizes that all candidates must verify their details through the official commission website to ensure compliance with the latest directives. This examination cycle stands as a critical pillar in Bihar’s administrative framework, identifying the next generation of officers who will lead the state’s various departments and public services.
