Mumbai Viral Video Shows Seven People Living in a 100-Sq-Ft Room for Rs 6,000 Rent

A viral Mumbai video showing seven people living in a 100-square-foot room for Rs 6,000 rent has sparked debate over the city's housing crisis. The cramped space and narrow lanes have left social media users questioning the reality of urban living.

Mumbai's soaring property prices have made buying a home increasingly difficult for ordinary people. Even a one-room flat in the city requires a minimum budget of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh. As a result, many people prefer renting a home rather than purchasing a property. However, rental rates in Mumbai are also far from affordable.

A viral video circulating on social media has brought the city's housing challenges into focus. The video shows seven people living in a tiny room, reportedly measuring around 100 square feet, for a monthly rent of Rs 6,000.

The cramped living conditions have raised questions about how the occupants manage their daily lives, including where they sleep and how they accommodate their belongings in such a small space.

The video has prompted several social media users to comment on the realities of living in Mumbai. Some have also warned people considering moving to the city to watch the video before making a decision. "If you are thinking of running away to Mumbai, watch this video first. Otherwise, you might end up spending your days in a tiny room like this," several users have cautioned.

The vlogger can be seen making his way through narrow lanes before reaching a house. The streets are so cramped that there is barely enough space for two people to pass each other. If someone approaches from the opposite direction, there is hardly any room to move aside. Only one person can walk through the lane at a time.

After navigating these narrow passages, the vlogger reaches a small room that raises questions about whether it can even be described as a house.

The room is approximately the size of a typical bathroom in a village. Based on the visuals in the video, its area is estimated to be no more than 100 square feet.

Despite its limited size, the room has a kitchen and a bathroom for bathing. The remaining space is occupied by household belongings, leaving little room for sleeping.

As a result, the occupants have to sleep with their legs folded or squeezed close to one another. The video states that as many as seven people live in this small room and pay Rs 6,000 in rent every month.

The video has once again brought Mumbai's housing availability and the living conditions of ordinary residents into the spotlight.

The clip has reportedly received more than 4 crore 12 lakh views, while thousands of users have shared their reactions in the comments section.
