Viral Video Claiming PM Modi Takes JP Nadda in Car for Welcome Is Fake, Fact Check Reveals

The viral video shows Union Health Minister JP Nadda appearing to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he exits his vehicle. Several social media users shared the clip claiming that Prime Minister Modi takes a minister along with him in his car so that he can be welcomed after reaching the destination.

Facebook user ‘Niraj Yadav’ shared the video with the claim, “PM Modi is so addicted to getting himself welcomed that now he takes a minister with him to get himself honoured. Health Minister JP Nadda travels in the car along with Modiji and on the other side, after getting down from the car, comes in front and gives flowers to Modiji. This means that Modiji has made Nadda ji a cabinet minister so that there is no shortage in welcoming him….”

The viral Facebook post was uploaded on July 29, 2026, and many users shared it believing the claim to be true.

Vishvas News investigated the viral video and found that the person seen getting out of Prime Minister Modi’s car was not JP Nadda. The video was also found to be old and related to an event held on July 27, 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi for a Council of Chief Ministers meeting.

During the investigation, Vishvas News scanned the viral video and noticed the logo of news agency ‘ANI’. The video was then searched on ANI’s official X handle, where a 55-second clip uploaded on July 27, 2024, was found showing Prime Minister Modi’s arrival at the BJP headquarters.

A longer version of the viral video was also found on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official YouTube channel, where it was livestreamed on July 27, 2024. At the 16-second mark of the video, a man wearing a blue shirt can be seen getting out of the Prime Minister’s car. Before this, the same person was seen arranging files in the car next to Prime Minister Modi.

During the investigation, Vishvas News also found a video on the official X handle of ‘IANS’. The video dated July 27, 2024, showed the man sitting next to Prime Minister Modi and JP Nadda together. The footage clearly showed that the man sitting next to Prime Minister Modi left with files, while JP Nadda was already standing near the Prime Minister’s car to welcome him.

To verify JP Nadda’s arrival at the BJP headquarters, Vishvas News searched using various keywords and found a video posted on the official handle of news agency ‘PTI’. The video dated July 27, 2024, showed BJP President JP Nadda arriving at the party headquarters for the Council of Chief Ministers meeting, confirming that he reached the venue in a separate vehicle.

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, the party president and senior leaders welcome him. When JP Nadda was the BJP president, he used to welcome the Prime Minister. Currently, BJP president Nitin Naveen welcomes PM Modi. Nitin Naveen became the BJP’s national president on January 20, 2026. Before him, JP Nadda held the position of BJP president, which he assumed on January 20, 2020.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Vishvas News examined the profile of the user who shared the false post. It found that the user named ‘Neeraj Yadav’ is associated with a political party. He is a resident of Prayagraj and is followed by more than 2,000 people on Facebook.

The fact-check established that the viral video was misleading and that the person seen exiting Prime Minister Modi’s car was not JP Nadda. The footage from July 27, 2024, was shared with a false claim to create a misleading impression about the Prime Minister and the BJP leader.
