India Boxing Eyes Five More Medals as Commonwealth Games 2026 Campaign Gains Pace

India’s boxing contingent targets five more medals at the Commonwealth Games 2026 as Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas, Parveen Hooda, Jadumani Singh and Kapil Pokhariya compete in quarter-finals with bronze medals at stake.

India’s campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 is set to gather further momentum today, with the boxing contingent aiming to secure five more medals. Five Indian boxers will enter the quarter-finals, where victories in their respective bouts will guarantee at least a bronze medal.

In boxing, both losing semi-finalists are awarded bronze medals, meaning a quarter-final win will confirm a place on the podium for each Indian boxer who advances to the semi-finals.

In the women’s events, Preeti Pawar will compete in the 54-kilogram category, Priya Ghanghas will take part in the 60-kilogram category, and Parveen Hooda will fight in the 65-kilogram category.

In the men’s section, Jadumani Singh will be in action in the 55-kilogram category, while Kapil Pokhariya will compete in the 90-kilogram category.

Along with boxing, India will also have several medal opportunities in weightlifting and athletics during the day. The performances across these events will add to India’s pursuit of further success at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
