IndiGo Flight Declares Emergency, Lands Safely in Rajkot After Cargo Smoke Alert

IndiGo flight 6E-1452 from Dubai to Mumbai lands safely at Rajkot International Airport after a cargo smoke alert forced an emergency diversion. Passengers were evacuated safely as technical teams investigate the cause.

 

An IndiGo flight from Dubai to Mumbai carrying 194 passengers and crew made a safe emergency landing at Rajkot International Airport in Gujarat after the pilot detected smoke in the cargo area, leading to a full emergency declaration on Monday.

IndiGo flight 6E-1452 declared a full emergency at 2:45 p.m. IST on Monday after smoke was spotted in the cargo area. The aircraft was diverted from its route and landed safely at Rajkot International Airport in Gujarat by 3:27 p.m.

All passengers and crew members on board deplaned without injury after the aircraft reached the airport. Fire services were kept ready as the emergency response was carried out.

Passengers were provided refreshments while waiting for a replacement flight scheduled around 7 p.m. Technical teams are investigating the cause of the cargo smoke that prompted the emergency landing.
