The data also showed that during the same period, 41.1 percent of female workers were engaged in the self-employed category in agriculture.
In a written reply in Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Mr. Ramnath Thakur said that the PM-KISAN scheme provides 6,000 rupees per year to all eligible farmers through direct benefit transfer without gender discrimination.
Mr. Thakur said the scheme has significantly benefited women farmers by ensuring transparent and direct financial support to strengthen their income and participation in agriculture.
The Minister informed that a total of 2,18,66,774 women beneficiaries received benefits under the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN Scheme.
The government’s statement highlighted the participation of women in agricultural activities and the financial support extended to women farmers through PM-KISAN, reflecting their role among the beneficiaries of the scheme.
