PM Modi Reviews Assam Flood Crisis as Death Toll Reaches 66, Relief Efforts Intensify

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviews Assam floods as the death toll reaches 66, with over 6.5 lakh people affected. Rescue operations, relief camps, aid centers, and support initiatives expand across the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the devastating Assam flood situation on Tuesday after the death toll reached 66, with more than 6.5 lakh people affected across 10 districts of the state. Modi met Assam MPs to assess the impact of the floods and ongoing relief measures.

The floods have caused severe disruption across Assam, with Sivasagar among the hardest-hit districts. Relief operations have intensified as the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Army, and Air Force continue rescue and assistance efforts for thousands of affected people.

Authorities have sheltered 71,000 people in relief camps and are operating 1,690 aid centers to provide support during the crisis. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked Prime Minister Modi for his attention toward the flood situation and the affected communities.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan's foundation has started distributing essential supplies to flood-affected people and plans to rebuild schools impacted by the disaster. The BJP has also launched a Rs 12 crore clothing drive as calls continue for donations and long-term solutions to address the flood situation.
