ACB Action in Jodhpur: Patwari Ankush Baghela Arrested While Accepting ₹75,000 Bribe in Mutation Case
The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Jodhpur Patwari Ankush Baghela during a trap operation while allegedly accepting ₹75,000 bribe. The accused was posted in Popawas and held additional charge of Bambor. He allegedly demanded ₹1 lakh for mutation entries of 20 shops and threatened to delay the process without payment.
According to the information available, Ankush Baghela was posted as Patwari in Popawas and was also holding additional charge of Bambor. He allegedly demanded ₹5,000 per shop for completing mutation work related to 20 shops, amounting to a total demand of ₹1 lakh.
The complainant alleged that the accused was pressuring them by threatening that the mutation process would not be completed if the demanded bribe amount was not paid. Following the information received about the alleged corruption demand, the ACB team planned the operation and caught the accused while accepting ₹75,000.
The arrest was carried out as part of the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s continued action against officials accused of demanding illegal payments for government-related services. The successful trap operation has highlighted the agency’s efforts to curb corruption and ensure accountability among public officials.
