PM Modi Expresses Solidarity with Venezuela After Deadly Earthquakes, Offers India's Assistance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, killing at least 32 people and injuring around 700. Offering solidarity and support, Modi said India stands ready to extend all possible assistance to the Latin American nation as it recovers from the disaster.
The earthquakes struck off the coast of Venezuela on Wednesday evening, causing widespread destruction. According to official reports, at least 32 people lost their lives, while nearly 700 others sustained injuries in the disaster.
Reacting to the tragedy, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his condolences to the victims and their families. In a message posted on X, he said he was deeply saddened by the extensive damage caused by the severe earthquakes.
“Deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the severe earthquakes in Venezuela. On behalf of the people of India, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Venezuela, especially to the families who have lost their loved ones,” the Prime Minister said.
He also expressed hope for the swift recovery of those injured in the disaster and reaffirmed India's support for the affected communities. Emphasising India's commitment to humanitarian assistance, Modi stated that the country stands in solidarity with Venezuela during this challenging period.
“India prays for the speedy recovery of those injured and stands in solidarity with all those affected during this difficult time. India stands ready to extend all possible assistance,” he added.
The Prime Minister's message reflects India's continued commitment to supporting nations affected by natural disasters and underscores the country's readiness to assist Venezuela as it confronts the aftermath of one of its deadliest seismic events in recent times.
