IHG Signs Landmark Agreement for InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, Set to Open in 2030

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Zon Hotels to develop InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, set to open in Q1 2030. Featuring 350 rooms, luxury suites, dining venues, ballroom, spa, and premium facilities, the hotel will strengthen Mumbai’s luxury hospitality landscape and expand IHG’s presence in India.

 

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global leader in the hospitality industry, has announced the signing of a management agreement with Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited for the development of InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon. The luxury hotel is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2030 and is positioned as a major addition to IHG’s premium portfolio in India, further strengthening its footprint in Mumbai’s competitive hospitality sector.

The upcoming property will be located in Goregaon, a rapidly developing suburban hub in western Mumbai, strategically situated between Andheri and Malad. Designed to serve both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will feature 350 elegantly designed guest rooms, including 70 luxury suites, and will offer seamless connectivity across key parts of the city.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, recognised as the world’s first international luxury hotel brand, continues to expand its global presence with more than 237 operational hotels and over 100 properties in the development pipeline. The brand is widely associated with culturally immersive luxury experiences and landmark destinations that integrate local identity with global standards.

Commenting on the development, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated that Mumbai continues to demonstrate strong demand across both business and leisure segments. He highlighted that Goregaon’s emergence as a growing commercial corridor makes it an ideal location for expanding IHG’s luxury portfolio. He further added that the new hotel will offer world-class amenities, intuitive service, and a strong sense of place tailored to evolving traveller expectations.

Sandip Gupta, Director, Zon Hotels (Mumbai) Private Limited, described the partnership as a continuation of a shared vision to develop landmark hospitality projects. He noted that the collaboration with IHG reflects confidence in delivering a luxury destination that sets new benchmarks in Mumbai’s hospitality sector, supported by global systems and a strong loyalty network.

The hotel will feature five distinct dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurants, a bar, and a lobby lounge. It will also include extensive meeting and event facilities, highlighted by one of the largest ballrooms in the city, designed to accommodate major social and corporate gatherings.

Additional amenities will include a fully equipped fitness centre, spa, swimming pool, retail spaces, and ample parking facilities, ensuring a comprehensive luxury experience for guests.

Ishwar Shukla, Director, DGS Group, stated that the property is being designed as a landmark destination in North Mumbai with world-class architecture and contemporary design standards. He added that the hotel will cater to diverse customer segments while delivering luxury, comfort, and high-quality service.

IHG currently operates 52 hotels across India under seven brands, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. The company also has a strong development pipeline of 98 hotels expected to open within the next three to five years. With InterContinental Mumbai Goregaon, IHG continues to reinforce its long-term expansion strategy in key gateway cities across India.

The project is expected to emerge as a defining luxury destination in Mumbai, combining global hospitality standards with locally inspired experiences, further strengthening the city’s position as a leading international tourism and business hub.
