Central University of Haryana’s Physics and Astrophysics Department Celebrates AAYAM-2026 with Academic and Cultural Excellence
The Department of Physics and Astrophysics at Central University of Haryana celebrated AAYAM-2026 with academic recognitions, cultural performances, student felicitation, and inspiring addresses by university leaders. The annual event highlighted research achievements, extracurricular excellence, and the importance of holistic personality development.
The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar as the Chief Guest, while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar and Registrar Prof. Suneel Kumar graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. Addressing students, faculty members, and guests, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar congratulated the department for its achievements and encouraged students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, cultural, and sports activities alongside their studies. He emphasized that overall personality development can only be achieved through a balanced combination of academic success and active involvement in creative and extracurricular pursuits.
The programme commenced with an invocation dedicated to Lord Ganesha, followed by the welcome of dignitaries and the presentation of tokens of appreciation. Head of the Department Prof. Ankush Vij presented the annual report, highlighting the department’s achievements in academics, research, cultural activities, and extracurricular initiatives during the year.
The celebration featured a series of cultural performances that added energy and color to the event. A poetry recital and a vibrant Rajasthani folk dance captivated the audience and reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity alongside academic excellence.
During the programme, academic toppers, sports achievers, and student office bearers were felicitated for their outstanding contributions and achievements. The dignitaries congratulated the award recipients and praised the department’s continued progress while motivating students to pursue comprehensive development through active participation in both academic and co-curricular activities.
The event was organized by Prof. Sunita Srivastava and Dr. Meenu Thakur. A colorful ramp walk by final-year students and an engaging dance performance by faculty members further enhanced the festive atmosphere and drew enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
