Bisleri Marks World Environment Day 2026 with Large-Scale Community Initiatives Across North India
Bisleri International marked World Environment Day 2026 with extensive environmental initiatives across Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Through its Bottles for Change programme, the company mobilised thousands of citizens, government agencies, educational institutions, and community organisations to promote plastic waste segregation, recycling, cleanup drives, plantation campaigns, and environmental awareness.
In Delhi, Bisleri organised an awareness session and painting competition at EDM Mall in Kaushambi. Another painting competition was held at Rose Udaan Home for Girls, an organisation managed by Salam Balak Trust in Dilshad Garden. Together, these activities engaged more than 320 participants and encouraged discussions on environmental responsibility and plastic waste management.
Punjab witnessed one of the largest initiatives under the programme. In Ludhiana, a large-scale plogging drive was organised in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner's Office and more than 30 government and institutional partners. The campaign attracted over 1,500 citizens who participated in collecting and segregating plastic waste from public spaces.
In Chandigarh, a two-day plastic collection drive was conducted in partnership with the Market Welfare Association of Sector 19D, bringing together 100 residents. The city also hosted an awareness-focused painting competition in collaboration with Yuva Stambh at Babu Dham Colony, where 50 young participants explored the environmental impact of plastic waste through creative expression.
In Uttar Pradesh, Bisleri established an exhibition stall at the State-Level Workshop on Environment organised by the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Uttar Pradesh, at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in Lucknow. The stall highlighted the significance of recycling through displays of products manufactured from various categories of recycled plastics. Educational comic books and resource kits were distributed to visitors, while an interactive waste segregation game reinforced the importance of proper waste management practices. The workshop was attended by approximately 800 officials and policymakers.
Further strengthening environmental conservation efforts in the state, a cleanup drive was conducted at the ecologically sensitive Ekana Wetland in partnership with the Gomti Task Force. An additional awareness session was organised at Kudiya Ghat in collaboration with Lion Securities, focusing on environmental preservation and responsible waste disposal.
In Gujarat, plantation drives, cleanup campaigns, and awareness sessions were conducted at five locations, including Indroda Nature Park in collaboration with the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation, the Sabarmati Riverfront with Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, Pansar Village with Kiran Fitness Centre, the Rapid Action Force Camp Cantonment, and Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. These initiatives engaged more than 525 participants, including students, defence personnel, and members of local communities. A Letter of Association was also signed with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, strengthening Bisleri's institutional partnerships within the state.
In Rajasthan, Gram Bharti Samiti partnered with Bottles for Change to organise a Best Out of Waste plant pot-making competition on June 4, followed by a Run for a Change programme in Jaipur on June 5. Together, the events mobilised 140 participants and promoted sustainable practices among community members.
