Central Railway Extends Partial Train Terminations on Mumbai Routes Amid Ongoing CSMT Expansion Works

According to Sunil B. Narkar, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, the decision to extend the partial termination of train services at Dadar and Thane stations has been taken in view of continuing infrastructure development at Mumbai CSMT.

Under the revised operational schedule, the Madgaon–Mumbai CSMT Tejas Express (Train No. 22120), which departs from Madgaon between May 27 and June 12, will now terminate at Dadar station instead of its scheduled destination at Mumbai CSMT. This adjustment affects all services operating within the specified period.

In a similar modification, the Mangaluru Junction–Mumbai CSMT Express (Train No. 12134), operating from Mangaluru Junction between May 27 and June 12, will be partially terminated at Thane station instead of proceeding to Mumbai CSMT.

Railway authorities have stated that these temporary operational changes are necessary to facilitate ongoing infrastructure expansion works at Mumbai CSMT. The administration has urged passengers traveling from the Mangaluru and Goa regions toward Mumbai to take note of the revised arrangements and cooperate with railway operations during the construction period.

The extension of partial terminations underscores the scale and impact of modernization work at one of Mumbai’s most critical railway hubs, as authorities prioritize infrastructure enhancement while maintaining regulated service continuity.
