Lighting World & Home Tech Expo Announced as India’s First Dedicated Platform for Smart Lighting and Home Technology
ELCOMA and Ace Exhibitions have announced the launch of the Lighting World & Home Tech Expo, India’s first dedicated exhibition for advanced lighting and smart home technologies. Scheduled for January 2027 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the Expo will showcase intelligent lighting, automation, connected living solutions, and emerging sustainable technologies.
In a major development for India’s lighting and smart living industries, ELCOMA (Electric Lamp and Component Manufacturers Association of India) and Ace Exhibitions have announced a strategic partnership to launch the “Lighting World & Home Tech Expo,” the country’s first dedicated exhibition focused on advanced lighting solutions and next-generation home technology. The announcement was made during a grand curtain-raiser event held at India Habitat Centre, where both organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding and hosted a high-level panel discussion on “The Future of Smart Lighting & Home Tech in India.”
The panel discussion featured prominent industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts, including Anupreet Singh Jaggi, Sudeshna Mukhopadhyay, Mohit Sharma, Parag Bhatnagar, C. Arun Kumar, and Amal Sengupta. The event highlighted the rapidly evolving landscape of intelligent lighting systems, connected living technologies, and sustainable infrastructure solutions in India.
The inaugural edition of the Lighting World & Home Tech Expo will be organised from 14 to 16 January 2027 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Positioned as a high-impact business-to-business and business-to-consumer platform, the Expo will showcase the complete ecosystem of lighting and smart living technologies. The exhibition will include lamps, luminaires, lighting components, automation systems, audio-visual integration, energy management technologies, and connected home solutions.
The announcement comes at a time when India’s lighting and smart home sectors are witnessing significant growth. The Indian lighting market, currently valued at nearly USD 3.83 billion in 2025, is projected to reach approximately USD 5.12 billion by 2031. The smart lighting segment is expected to record massive expansion, increasing from around USD 1.2 billion in 2025 to more than USD 11.5 billion by 2034. Industry experts attribute this growth to rising adoption of Internet of Things-enabled systems, human-centric lighting technologies, and voice-controlled automation solutions.
Simultaneously, India’s smart home market is projected to grow from USD 5.2 billion in 2025 to nearly USD 24.1 billion by 2031. Rapid urbanisation, increasing disposable incomes, affordable Internet of Things adoption, and growing consumer demand for connected living technologies are expected to drive this expansion across the country.
Speaking at the event, Parag Bhatnagar, President of ELCOMA, stated that the Indian lighting industry is rapidly transitioning toward intelligent, connected, and sustainable systems. He said the partnership with Ace Exhibitions aims to create a dedicated platform that promotes innovation, strengthens industry collaboration, and supports future-ready technologies aligned with India’s smart infrastructure objectives.
Amal Sengupta, Secretary General of ELCOMA, said the convergence of smart lighting and home automation technologies is transforming the sector. He stated that the Expo will provide manufacturers, designers, and system integrators with an important platform to exchange ideas, showcase interoperable technologies, and discuss emerging industry standards and future opportunities.
Sharing his vision for the event, Anupreet Singh Jaggi, Managing Director of ACEXM7 Events Pvt Ltd., said the Lighting World & Home Tech Expo has been designed to bridge the lighting and home automation industries under one integrated platform. He added that the initiative aligns closely with national programmes such as the Smart Cities Mission and India’s broader sustainability objectives. According to him, the organisers envision the Expo as an annual flagship event that will accelerate business growth, encourage innovation, promote domestically manufactured products, and establish the Delhi-National Capital Region as a leading hub for smart living technologies.
The three-day exhibition will feature large-scale exhibition halls, technical seminars, buyer-seller meetings, innovation showcases, industry awards, and specialised workshops focused on emerging technologies. Key subjects will include Li-Fi technology, circadian lighting systems, artificial intelligence-driven automation, and net-zero building solutions.
ELCOMA, established in 1970, is the apex industry body representing manufacturers of lamps, lighting fixtures, and components in India. The organisation works closely with government agencies and industry stakeholders to promote quality standards, technological advancement, and energy-efficient solutions across the sector.
Ace Exhibitions, a division of ACEXM7 Events Pvt Ltd. and M7 Creations, is recognised as a leading organiser of specialised trade fairs and consumer exhibitions across the lifestyle, technology, and home solutions sectors in India.
The launch of the Lighting World & Home Tech Expo marks a significant milestone for India’s rapidly expanding smart lighting and connected home industries. With growing demand for intelligent automation, energy-efficient systems, and sustainable infrastructure, the Expo is expected to emerge as a major national platform for innovation, collaboration, and technological advancement in the smart living ecosystem.
