Having secured victories from both the Perambur and Trichy East constituencies, Vijay marked the moment by seeking his father’s blessings and spending time with close family members, including relatives and children. As he later stepped out of his residence, supporters gathered in large numbers, greeting him with loud cheers. The 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election results delivered a clear and transformative mandate. Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as a dominant political force, securing 108 seats, just 10 short of the majority mark. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam followed with 59 seats, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won 47 seats.
Other parties registered limited representation in the Assembly. The Indian National Congress secured 5 seats, while the Pattali Makkal Katchi won 4. Smaller parties, including the Indian Union Muslim League, Communist Party of India, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and Communist Party of India (Marxist), secured 2 seats each. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, and Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam won one seat each.
