According to law enforcement officials, TMC party offices across several locations in Kolkata were targeted and vandalized by groups described as mobs. In a strongly worded statement on its official social media platform, the TMC accused the BJP of revealing its “true face” immediately after assuming power. The party also shared a video depicting an elderly woman with a head injury, alleging that the violence was part of BJP’s victory celebrations and describing it as being “drenched in the blood of innocent people.”
Responding to the allegations, an official from the Election Commission stated that strict action would be taken against those found responsible for the incidents. The commission has sought detailed reports from local police authorities and instructed them to initiate appropriate measures to maintain law and order.
However, BJP leader Rahul Sinha dismissed the accusations, attributing the violence to internal conflicts within the TMC rather than actions by BJP supporters. His response adds another layer of contention to an already volatile political situation.
