Delhi Lok Adalat on October 25: Check Traffic Challan Eligibility, Token Dates and Courts
Delhi National Lok Adalat will be held on October 25 for eligible traffic challans pending up to June 30, 2026. Check token download dates, required documents, court locations and hearing timings.
The National Lok Adalat was initially scheduled for September 12. However, due to the BRICS summit being held between September 11 and 13, the date was postponed to October 10. It has now been rescheduled again, with October 25 fixed as the new date for resolving eligible traffic challan cases.
According to the latest notification, only compoundable traffic challans pending up to June 30, 2026, will be considered during the Lok Adalat. Challans issued after June, including those issued in July, August, September and October, will not be included in the proceedings.
Vehicle owners must download their challan appointment slips, also known as tokens, through the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat portal starting at 10 am on October 19. The number of available tokens is limited, so applicants have been advised to apply as soon as the portal opens. Without a token, their challans will not be taken up for settlement at the Lok Adalat.
Vehicle owners must also carry a printed copy of the token. The slip will contain details of the court number and the magistrate assigned to hear their case, making it essential for attending the proceedings.
Applicants are also required to carry the necessary documents, including the vehicle registration certificate (RC), driving licence, pollution certificate, traffic challan and Aadhaar card.
The National Lok Adalat will be conducted at all district court complexes across Delhi, including Tis Hazari Court, Patiala House Court, Karkardooma Court, Rohini Court, Dwarka Court, Saket Court and Rouse Avenue Court. Proceedings will take place from 10 am to 4 pm at these locations.
A daily limit of 50,000 challans has been set for the Lok Adalat. The limited capacity and advance token requirement make timely registration important for vehicle owners seeking to settle their eligible cases.
Lok Adalats provide a platform for resolving disputes through mutual agreement rather than lengthy legal proceedings. Traffic challan cases are also taken up for settlement through this process. In Delhi, the proceedings attract considerable interest from vehicle owners looking to clear pending eligible challans through an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
