Renault Duster Hybrid Launched in India at Rs 16.99 Lakh, Claims 29 kmpl Mileage
Renault Duster Hybrid has launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 16.99 lakh, with claimed mileage of 29 kmpl, 160 PS power, three variants and a battery warranty of eight years or 1.6 lakh kilometres.
The newly launched Duster Hybrid is available with a claimed fuel efficiency of 29 kilometres per litre, which Renault says is the highest in the mid-size SUV segment. The company had revealed the mileage figure before the official launch but had not announced the prices until now.
Renault Duster Hybrid Claims Highest Mileage in Its Segment
With diesel cars no longer part of its Indian portfolio, Renault has introduced strong-hybrid technology in the Duster. The SUV's claimed mileage of 29 kmpl is higher than the 27.97 kmpl claimed for its closest hybrid rivals, the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid.
Renault claims the Duster Hybrid is India's most fuel-efficient hybrid car. The company also states that the SUV can cover more than 1,400 kilometres on a full tank of fuel. It comes with a 50-litre fuel tank.
Renault Duster Hybrid Powertrain and Performance
The Duster Hybrid features Renault's E-Tech 160 technology and is based on the company's RGMP platform, which Renault describes as future-ready. The platform can accommodate multiple powertrain options, including internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, CNG and electric powertrains.
The SUV is equipped with a 1.8-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 110 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. It also gets a 1.4 kWh battery. The vehicle offers six operating modes, allowing the battery, electric motor and engine to work in different configurations.
With the combined powertrain, the Duster Hybrid delivers 160 PS of power and 208 Nm of torque. Renault claims the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.6 seconds.
Renault Duster Hybrid Price, Variants and Warranty
The Renault Duster Hybrid is available in three variants: Evolution, Techno and Emotion. The introductory ex-showroom price of the Evolution variant is Rs 16.99 lakh. The Techno variant is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh, while the Emotion variant costs Rs 19.49 lakh, both ex-showroom.
Renault is offering a seven-year warranty with the vehicle. The battery is covered by a separate warranty of eight years or 1.6 lakh kilometres.
The standard Renault Duster range starts at Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom. With the introduction of the strong-hybrid version, Renault is offering buyers a Duster powered by a petrol-electric system, with a claimed mileage of 29 kmpl and a range of more than 1,400 kilometres on a full tank.
