Delhi-Haridwar Express Gets First Halt at Rohana Kalan After Long Wait
Delhi-Haridwar Express begins its first halt at Rohana Kalan railway station, fulfilling a long-standing local demand as Minister Anil Kumar and MP Chandan Chauhan welcome the locomotive pilot.
The train arrived at Rohana Kalan station at its scheduled time of 11:26 on Friday. As it reached the station for the first time, the atmosphere turned celebratory. Amid drum beats, MP Chandan Chauhan and Minister Anil Kumar welcomed the locomotive pilot by garlanding him and offering him sweets. Local residents also expressed happiness, describing the train stoppage as a major achievement for the area.
The halt of the express train at Rohana Kalan railway station had been a long-standing demand of residents. With the new stoppage, passengers travelling towards Delhi and Haridwar will now have access to direct rail connectivity from the station. The facility is expected to be particularly useful for people travelling to these cities for jobs, business, education and other essential work.
Bijnor MP Chandan Chauhan's continuous efforts are also being considered important in securing the new rail facility. The MP had raised the demand of local residents in Parliament and had also continuously pursued the matter at the Railway Ministry level. After several meetings and efforts, the Delhi-Haridwar Express has now started halting at Rohana Kalan station.
The first-halt programme was not limited to the welcome ceremony. After the train departed, the MP, the minister and their entire team boarded the same train and travelled with passengers to Muzaffarnagar. During the journey, they interacted with people and passengers on the train and also sought their response to the new rail facility.
Rohana Kalan railway station falls under the Purqazi Assembly constituency and is part of the Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency. The new stoppage is therefore expected to benefit not only residents of Rohana Kalan but also passengers from surrounding rural areas, providing them with access to the Delhi-Haridwar Express from the station.
