Siddharth announced his decision through a lengthy post on X, directly addressing Mayawati and reiterating his long-standing loyalty to her, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and the mission of Manyavar Sahib Shri Kanshi Ram and Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Addressing Mayawati as “Behen Ji,” Siddharth wrote that her order was more important to him than anything in the world and that his relationships, family and other ties were insignificant before her instructions. He said that under her guidance, he had remained dedicated to the BSP and the mission of Kanshi Ram and Ambedkar for the past 35 years. He added that he had tried to fulfil every responsibility assigned to him to the best of his ability.
Siddharth described Mayawati as his political mentor and elder sister, saying that she had given him the opportunity to serve as a member of the Legislative Council and the Rajya Sabha. He said Mayawati had considered him worthy of becoming a member of her family despite being an ordinary party worker and called this a debt he could not repay in his lifetime.
Defending himself against allegations of working against the party’s interests, Siddharth said he swore by Tathagata Lord Gautam Buddha, his revered figure, and his political ideal Manyavar Sahib Shri Kanshi Ram that he had never done anything against the interests of the party. He also said he could not even dream of doing anything against Mayawati. According to Siddharth, his life and that of his family remained indebted to her, while every piece of advice and every order from Mayawati was his final word.
Siddharth also rejected allegations that he had been advising Akash Anand or attempting to influence him. He said that, far from advising Anand, he had met him only on a few occasions in the past several months when Anand’s programmes were scheduled in states for which Siddharth had been given responsibility by Mayawati.
He further alleged that some people within the party had accused him of trying to take control of the BSP because of the respect he had received from Mayawati. He also denied allegations that he was attempting to mislead Akash Anand, calling the claims completely untrue.
Siddharth described the allegations as a conspiracy by his political opponents, alleging that those involved were engaged in anti-party activities. He said the truth would eventually come before Mayawati.
He also made a specific request to Mayawati not to link his political retirement with Akash Anand’s return to responsibility. Siddharth said Akash Anand was Mayawati’s nephew before being his son-in-law and was the son of Anand Sahib. He said Anand had spent two decades under Mayawati’s guidance and supervision and questioned how an ordinary party worker like him could possibly mislead him.
Siddharth said Mayawati understood what was good and bad for Akash Anand better than anyone else and that the decision on whether to give Anand responsibility again rested entirely with her. He added that linking Anand’s return with his retirement would give an ordinary worker like him more importance than his position warranted.
Praising Mayawati, Siddharth described her as a symbol of sacrifice and compassion and said that when it came to the interests of society, she had even rejected the post of Chief Minister and membership of the Rajya Sabha.
Siddharth said Mayawati was not only their guide but also their ideal. He concluded by saying that if she believed his continued presence in political and social life was harming the Bahujan mission created by saints, gurus and great personalities, he was retiring from political and social life immediately.
He said his life remained indebted to Mayawati and that, in comparison, political retirement was a very small sacrifice. He added that if he ever had to give his life for her, he would consider it a matter of pride.
Siddharth’s announcement comes with his post centred on his loyalty to Mayawati, his denial of allegations concerning Akash Anand and his decision to leave political and social life if Mayawati believes his continued involvement is damaging the Bahujan mission.
