Luxembourg Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel Begins Three-Day India Visit to Deepen Bilateral Ties
Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel begins a three-day India visit to deepen ties in trade, fintech, startups, clean tech, space, health, education and mobility, while discussing supply chain resilience.
During his visit, Bettel met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries. Jaishankar highlighted growing confidence in doing more together, particularly in building supply chain resilience, and thanked Luxembourg for supporting the India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
Bettel described the relationship between Luxembourg and India as “trusted, honest” and praised India’s bridge-building role amid global conflicts.
As part of his three-day visit, Bettel will also visit IIT Madras and inaugurate a new campus in Chennai before departing India on September 9.
The visit is focused on strengthening cooperation across key sectors and further expanding the ties between India and Luxembourg.
