Investigating agencies suspect that Pranjal allegedly provided logistical and other necessary assistance to the shooters involved in the case. Mumbai Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have so far arrested a total of 10 accused in connection with the alleged conspiracy, seven of whom are reportedly linked to Sonipat district.
Pranjal had travelled to Indore to visit his brother, who was undergoing treatment there. His brother had initially been receiving treatment in Sonipat, Haryana, before doctors referred him to Indore for further treatment and robotic surgery. He has reportedly been undergoing treatment in Indore for the past five months.
According to preliminary information, Pranjal arrived in Indore five days ago to visit his brother. During this period, the Mumbai Crime Branch team traced his location to Indore. The Mumbai team subsequently travelled to the city and detained him with the assistance of the local Crime Branch.
Investigating agencies are examining Pranjal's alleged role in the conspiracy, his possible links with the shooters and the assistance he may have provided. Investigators are also probing whether he had any role in arranging weapons and facilitating the alleged attack on the actor.
The joint operation by Mumbai Police and the STF has resulted in the arrest of 10 accused so far, including seven reportedly associated with Sonipat district in Haryana. Investigators are now questioning Pranjal to establish the extent of his alleged involvement and identify other individuals who may have been connected to the conspiracy.
